Glass-filled PTFE mandrels are a new alternative to traditional PTFE-coated stainless steel mandrels.

Benefits of glass-filled PTFE mandrels:

  • Allow for ultra-precision tolerances (as tight as +/- .0001″).
  • Can be elongated for a simple release in seconds without damaging the device in difficult-to-extract materials, such as nylon.
  • Are very consistent and reduce contamination risk due to single use.
  • Are manufactured using modern grinding technology that allows for a high-performance ground surface finish and precision tolerances compared with PTFE-coated mandrels.
  • Are highly lubricious (even before applying a high-performance ground finish), making them easy to remove, even when elongated.
  • Can withstand working temperatures of up to 260° C/500° F, making them ideal for use in high-temperature applications.
  • Increase production rates in multilumen applications due to reduced cooling and removal times for polymer mandrels compared with stainless steel mandrels.
