Why PFAS-Free, High-Lubricity Liner Tubing Matters in Catheter Design

When you’re deep in the early stages of catheter development, every design decision impacts downstream performance, manufacturability, and time to validation. For years, PTFE liners have been the standard for low-friction performance, but they come with processing challenges, etching requirements, and increasing regulatory scrutiny around PFAS.

Now available on Chamfr, Dynaflex Technologies’ EverGlide+ extruded tubing gives R&D teams a new path forward, delivering a PFAS-free alternative that matches the low-friction performance of PTFE liners, without the processing drawbacks. Whether you’re building complex multi-layer shafts or testing new lumen configurations, Dynaflex Technologies helps you prototype and iterate faster.

EverGlide+ (PFAS-Free Catheter Liners)

A PFAS-free, e-beam sterilizable, extruded liner tubing that delivers lubricity comparable to PTFE, without the processing challenges. Unlike traditional blends, EverGlide+ features a proprietary compound that simplifies bonding and eliminates the need for surface etching.

  • Durometers Available: 20D, 30D, 40D, 50D, 60D
  • Applications: Inner lumens, shaft liners, PFAS-free catheter designs

EverGlide Dyna1 and Dyna2 (Additives)

Next-generation additives designed to be blended with base polymers like Pebax and Nylon to enhance surface lubricity and performance.

  • EverGlide Dyna1: First-generation additive, performance comparable to leading lubricious materials.
  • EverGlide Dyna2: Second-generation formulation with 2–3× higher lubricity versus leading alternatives, and excellent stability under use—no measurable leaching or migration observed in internal tests.
  • Applications: Outer jackets, steerable shafts, and other surface-sensitive catheter components.
  • Sterilization Compatibility: Validated for e-beam sterilization, with no surface degradation or additive migration.

Dimensional Range (All SKUs)

  • Inner Diameters: 0.0125″ to 0.450″
  • Wall Thicknesses: 0.001″ to 0.020″

Application Guidance for EverGlide+ Liner Tubing and Dyna Additives

Choosing the right liner and jacket material combination is about more than just friction, it’s about optimizing for manufacturability, sterilization compatibility, and design flexibility.

EverGlide+ Liner Tubing: Ideal for Liner Replacement

  • Use in place of etched PTFE for lower process complexity
  • Works well in multi-layer shafts due to strong bonding characteristics
  • Suitable for use with e-beam sterilization and other common processes
  • Supports PFAS-free initiatives for sustainability and regulatory compliance

EverGlide Dyna1 and Dyna2: Ideal for Outer Jackets

  • Dyna1 improves lubricity in cost-sensitive builds or early prototypes
  • Dyna2 offers significantly higher lubricity and durability for performance-driven designs
  • Compatible with Pebax, Tecoflex, and other elastomeric base materials
  • Reduces need for additional surface coatings

Whether you’re building a cardiovascular shaft with tight tolerances or a neurovascular system that demands low friction and maximum trackability, the EverGlide family can help you meet your design goals with fewer trade-offs.
