FEP Heat Shrink Fusing Sleeves
FEP heat shrink is a popular manufacturing aid used to reflow Pebax® or Nylon jacketing materials during catheter construction. When heated, the FEP fusing sleeve shrinks, applying radial compression. At the same time, the outer jacket melts (reflows) through the braid to bond with the underlying liner, ultimately forming the catheter shaft. The FEP fusing sleeve is then removed upon completion of the reflow process, leaving behind a smooth surface finish on the catheter shaft. Zeus can provide FEP heat shrink in custom shrink ratios to fine-tune radial compression for optimized reflow and jacket-to-liner adhesion.
