New on Chamfr: Electromagnetic, Thermocouple, and Pressure Micro-Sensors for Minimally Invasive Devices

By Chamfr Team
August 18, 2026
New Chamfr Supplier: Diagsensor

Developing smarter catheters and minimally invasive devices can leave engineering teams wondering how it will all fit. Narrow channels and distal assemblies leave little room to spare.

Yet, navigation, temperature feedback, and pressure features all add critical functionality to these catheters, endoscopes, and other minimally invasive devices.

Diagsensor Medical Technology’s micro-sensors, designed for complex assemblies, help MedTech teams integrate sensing technology into confined spaces where real estate is limited.

Now available on Chamfr, explore 10 new in-stock electromagnetic, pressure, and thermocouple micro-sensors, shipping in 1-2 business days.

A faster way to evaluate smarter catheter concepts without starting sensor development from scratch.

Micro-Electromagnetic Tracking Sensors for Navigation Capabilities

Add navigation capabilities to your device, without significantly increasing profile, with seven new electromagnetic tracking sensors from Diagsensor.

These micro-sensors include solid-core and hollow options in several configurations including both 5 and 6 degrees of freedom (DOF), giving you flexibility based on your design needs and the level of tracking information required.

Electromagnetic tracking sensor | Diagsensor

5DOF options include:

  • 0.42 mm OD × 6 mm
  • 0.33 mm OD × 4.2 mm
  • 0.33 mm OD × 2.5 mm
  • Hollow 1.6 mm OD × 1.1 mm ID × 2.5 mm

6DOF options include:

  • 0.93 mm OD × 8.5 mm
  • 0.63 mm OD × 6.3 mm
  • 25 mm OD × 4 mm surface reference sensor

5DOF sensors support position and directional tracking, while 6DOF configurations support full position and orientation tracking.

Tip: The hollow 5DOF configuration can fit around an instrument or within an assembly while preserving an internal lumen or working channel.

As programs progress, Diagsensor also offers customization, assembly, process development, and higher-volume manufacturing capabilities.

Common applications include: electrophysiology mapping and ablation catheters, endoscopic navigation, robotic or navigated catheter systems, neurovascular delivery systems, urology devices, interventional oncology devices, and more.

Temperature Sensing in Tight Distal Assemblies

With two new ready-to-ship T-type thermocouple micro-sensors available, MedTech teams can now access localized temperature monitoring near a treatment site, such as an electrode, in devices where conventional sensors may be too large.

Thermocouple sensor | Diagsensor

In-stock configurations include:

  • AWG 40: 0.31 mm maximum OD
  • AWG 44: 0.20 mm maximum OD

To help improve mechanical protection during assembly, these sensors include a protective tube at the sensing tip. Both have a maximum 3 mm sensing-tip length, a –40°C to 125°C operating range, and specified accuracy of ±0.5°C.

Typical applications include: radiofrequency ablation catheters, thermal ablation devices, electrophysiology devices, endoscopic devices, and more.

For custom applications, Diagsensor supports temperature sensing solutions as small as ~0.1 mm.

Integrated MEMS Pressure Assembly

If your design requires pressure measurement, explore the 0.41 mm OD, integrated MEMS pressure-sensing assembly.

This assembly combines the MEMS sensor with full calibration and protective packaging, reducing the number of sensor-integration steps required during early-stage development. Rather than developing every element of the assembly on your own, leverage the integrated pressure-sensing approach before feasibility testing begins.

Pressure sensor | Diagsensor

With ±3 mmHg accuracy between 700 and 820 mmHg and water-immersion compatibility, MedTech teams can evaluate pressure-sensing concepts in more representative development environments.

Common applications include: minimally invasive diagnostic systems, disposable urology endoscopes, cardiovascular diagnostic devices, catheter-based pressure monitoring, and more.

Start With a Standard Micro-Sensor. Customize as the Design Evolves.

The advantage for new product development teams isn’t just miniaturization. It’s also about access.

Projects requiring sensor integration can quickly turn into costly, lengthy customization decisions, before you’ve even determined if the approach works for your design.

Diagsensor’s ready-to-ship micro-sensors unlock a faster path from concept to prototype.

And once your design moves into the later stages of development, leverage Diagsensor’s capabilities from sensor customization, lead and cable customization, and sensor integration, through catheter assembly, process development, and higher-volume manufacturing.
