In this episode we go deep on the Versus™ Catheter from Liquet Medical – the first 510(k)-cleared catheter that combines controlled infusion of physician-specified fluids (including thrombolytics) into the pulmonary […]
Remote Heart Failure Monitoring: From Pressure to Multi-Parameter InsightsÂ
Listen
Watch
In 2026, heart failure still carries ~50% five-year mortality, and repeat hospitalizations remain a major burden for patients, families, and health systems. Remote monitoring is evolving to give care teams a more complete picture of what’s happening before patient conditions worsen.
Laura Becerra-Fajardo, PhD, from FORESEE recently joined Steve to discuss the latest developments in remote heart failure monitoring and their approach to measuring multiple physiological parameters from a single pulmonary artery implant. The implant is powered and controlled by high-frequency current bursts applied through external electrodes. The body conducts the current to electrodes on the implant, so the device needs no battery and no coils.
In this episode, she walks through the thinner capsule design, the 12 French delivery system, the five-minute at-home measurement, and the longer-term goal of physician-directed patient self-management.
It’s an inside look at how FORESEE is combining multi-parameter sensing, miniaturization, and a familiar catheter-based workflow.
What you’ll hear in this episode:
- The limits of relying on pulmonary artery pressure alone
- A multi-parameter approach designed to give care teams a broader view of patient status
- How FORESEE powers and communicates with the implant without a battery
- The focus on simplicity across implantation, daily monitoring, and physician-directed patient self-management
- Where FORESEE is today, from chronic animal studies to the Class III regulatory path
