A candid conversation on what actually helps MedTech programs progress, what tends to slow them down, and the lessons teams can use to make stronger development decisions.

From Idea to Innovation: Lessons Learned From an Early-Stage MedTech Founder | Chamfr Webinar Series

A promising MedTech idea is just the start.

Moving it forward requires a strong understanding of more than the technology itself. Teams have to pressure-test the need, learn from setbacks, build the right evidence, and decide when a solution is strong enough to take the next step.

Join Stanton Rowe, CEO of Nidus Biomedical, and Steve Maxson, VP of Growth at Chamfr, for a candid conversation on the realities of advancing medical device innovation.

Drawing on decades of experience across startups, global MedTech companies, and medical device incubation, Stanton will share hard-won lessons on what helps ideas move forward, what gets in the way, and what it takes to keep innovation moving.

His expertise spans 15 years as Chief Scientific Officer at Edwards Lifesciences and founding and leading Percutaneous Valve Technologies, which developed the first TAVR device and was acquired by Edwards in 2004. He has also held senior roles at Johnson & Johnson, where he led coronary stent development efforts, as well as Cordis and Datascope, and has served on numerous biomedical engineering advisory boards.

Live discussion and Q&A
You’ll Learn About:
  • Pressure-testing the need and market, not just the technology
  • Judging whether a solution works well enough to create real clinical and market value
  • How setbacks, failed approaches, and new evidence shape the development path
  • Reducing risk and building confidence as a program moves forward
  • When to keep pushing, when to rethink, and what can justify the next step

From helping build the first TAVR technology to evaluating emerging medical device companies today, Stanton has seen firsthand how strong ideas evolve, where programs lose momentum, and what can change the trajectory.
