Trio Labs, Inc.

Trio Labs specializes in ultra-small stainless steel components (17-4 & 316) for MedTech engineers working at the limits of traditional manufacturing. When EDM, CNC, and molding can’t deliver the resolution, feature details, or complexity needed below 5 mm, our Resin Infused Powder Lithography (RIPL) process steps in. From robotic assisted surgery and structural heart to drug delivery, neurovascular and ophthalmology, we help you prototype and scale micro metal parts that work in the body, where space is scarce and precision matters.

Your Partner in Micro Metal Manufacturing at Scale →

Trio Labs delivers micro metal manufacturing optimized for med tech innovators. Their proprietary Resin Infused Powder Lithography (RIPL) process harnesses standard MIM powders and sintering, yet enables ultra fine parts with CNC level surface finish (Ra32) and tolerances down to ~0.0005″ (≈ 12 µm) or ~5 µm resolution.

Whether you’re iterating prototypes or scaling to production – even in the hundreds of thousands – RIPL eliminates separate tooling or process transitions, speeding your path from design to device.

Trio isn’t selling printers – they’re selling precision parts backed by med tech engineering expertise, ISO 13485 certification, and hands on collaboration from R&D to production

Design Into the Problem, Not the Process

Trio Labs stands apart by tackling the toughest challenge in micro metal manufacturing: precision complexity at scale. Their RIPL technique achieves an order of magnitude finer resolution (~5 µm vs ~50 µm) than conventional additive printing, producing net shape parts (20–30 µm features) without burdensome secondaries.

Unlike milling, where complex parts rack up expensive machine time, or molding, which demands time consuming molds, RIPL prints area-wise (not point by point) and transitions effortlessly from prototyping to volume runs using the same materials and workflow.

In the world of minimally invasive surgical instruments – steerable catheters, robotic joints, microneedles, and micro articulation mechanisms – Trio manufactures intricate components that would otherwise require stacked processes or compromise design freedom. Visit Trio Labs to learn more!
